Mission Statement

We aim to provide bicycles to those in our community who need them at little to no cost. We will work to empower the community through skill shares and education.

We will help those with no means of transportation to travel the roads they pay to maintain. We wish to lower the number of pollutant emitting vehicles by increasing the number of human powered bicycles and therefore increase the health and productivity of all who live here.

Affiliation with STAR

Shadeland Tutoring and Recreation (STAR) is a new after-school program. Shadeland Bicycle Collective (SBC) is working with STAR by running a workship for the kids. In the workshop we will be doing repair demonstrations, allowing the kids to do their own small repairs, and advocating bicycle safety. We want to give kids a chance to learn a tangeable skill that is applicable in everyday life. We believe that hands-on skill building is a necessary part of the education of our youth. There will also be an opportunity for the children to earn a bicycle through a point system developed by STAR.
