TMH Staff Team & Leadership

Ian Andrews email

God has found me and I have found God in the most unlikely places and events. Dingy coffee shops, diners and bowling have hosted some of the most spiritual experiences of my life. God has made his/her divine presence known in circumstances I would never have asked for and brought me out even stronger than before. That’s why I go to The Mercy House; that’s why I’m staying in Anderson. I hope that I can live every day as an adjective to the great noun that is God.

Rachael Burgin email

Rachael Burgin is a graduate of Anderson University and works as an RN in the ICU at St. John’s Hospital. She sees commitment to the life and needs among the Mercy House community as both a learning adventure and way to better understand reconciliation. Rachael currently volunteers with Shadeland Tutoring And Recreation (STAR), and is mostly responsible for messy artistic endeavors with small children. She lives in historic Anderson and enjoys being outdoors, sipping coffee, creating and particularly the combination of all three.

Lindsay Conner email

Lindsay Conner is a freelance writer and an editor for Wiley Publishing. She enjoys getting people together and planning events like the annual silent auction fundraiser, held in December. She serves as a worship leader and is married to Matt. Contact her for info on the crafting bee or other ways to get involved at TMH.

Matt Conner

Matt is the founding pastor of The Mercy House and serves as the primary teacher. He’s also a writer by trade and continues to write about pop culture and religion/spirituality for several magazines, newspapers and websites, including his own music site at Stereo Subversion. He was married to Lindsay in the summer of 2006.

Sam Edgin email

In an ideal world, Sam would say that he has a superhero alter-ego or that he piloted a starship that could do the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs, but really all he has is a sociology major from Taylor University and a master’s degree in Intercultural Studies in the works. His penchants for gardening, bike riding, longboarding, climbing, music, coffee or movies aren’t quite as good as a trusty blaster, but they at least make life a little more interesting.

Mischon Kareken email

Mischon Kareken coordinates our events at the Mercy House and helps volunteers get plugged in to the community needs. She enjoys the chance to be hospitable and gather the people of our greater community together for meals. Mischon lives in historic Anderson and works full-time at a local women’s facility called Selah House as a Recovery Care Specialist. She is an active artist with a BA in Studio Arts from Anderson University and enjoys refurbishing furniture, collecting post cards, good music and coffee in her spare time.

Bre Losey email

Bre makes sure there is someone to welcome you every week and hot lattes as well. Originally from Upstate New York, Bre now lives in downtown Anderson and works as an admissions counselor at Anderson University. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, playing the drums, and drinking coffee.
